We Resume Day After
A spontaneous trip that felt like home every passing day.
Last Tuesday, spontaneity got the better of me and I found myself in Tbilisi, Georgia the very next day. In case you’re wondering about the credibility of this impulsive decision, let me assure you that sometimes, the most extraordinary journeys begin with a leap of faith into the unknown.
I bid farewell to this enchanting place tomorrow, returning to the scorching heat of Dubai where I resume routine until the next time spontaneity strikes. And yet, I’m not disheartened. On the contrary, I’m comforted by the fact that on my return to Tbilisi in the not-so-distant future, the captivating city and its residents will embrace my arrival, defending me against naysayers who dare call me a tourist again.
This past week has been a revelation for me. As someone who has written about travel experiences in the past, actually practicing what I preached made me truly grasp the profound impact of the stories I had penned down from the confines of a dimly lit room.
On this bittersweet Sunday, I find myself reluctantly but dutifully capturing my thoughts on paper. As the trip draws to a close today, with last-minute packing, key exchanges and panicky taxi bookings due tomorrow, I can’t resist meandering the unfamiliar streets once again, in the hopes them getting familiar with me.
It leaves me with a lingering curiosity, contemplating when the next opportunity to embark on such an adventure, will arise.
We resume day after.
Cheers,
Aamer
